The formal mindfulness practice of the A theme is called mindful movement, but mindful walking is also offered as an additional mindfulness practice. In guiding mindful movements, there are scripts for both standing and seated practices. In contrast to the body scan, mindfulness of thoughts and mindfulness of feelings, mindful movement is an open awareness practice because we’re attending to sensations in the body, thoughts and feelings. We practice mindful attention to the whole triangle of awareness.

Instructions for other open awareness practices, such as mindful eating are also included as optional practices in the A theme lesson.
